Climbing Series: Natural Anchor Progression

Looking to take your climbing outdoors? Our Natural Anchor Progression course is designed to give you the skills and confidence to set up safe and effective top-rope anchors outside. Over the course of a weekend, you'll learn key principles, practice anchor-building techniques, and apply your skills on real rock. Sign up for what you are most interested in! 

• 5/16 Friday Evening: 2-hour indoor workshop covering climbing anchor principles and essential knots.
• 5/17 Saturday: Half day of hands-on practice building natural anchors using trees and other fixed points on Kalamazoo College’s campus.
• 5/18 Sunday: Trip to Grand Ledge to set up real anchors and climb on them under instructor guidance.

This course does not include lead climbing instruction or certification to climb lead. Our goal is to equip you with the knowledge to build safe and reliable top-rope anchors outdoors.
