Thid 3-week course introduces the fundamentals of Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW). Students will develop the skills necessary to perform a groove weld on a fixed, flat (horizontal plate coupon using the FCAW process in accordance with industry standards, including AWS D1.1, OSHA safety certification, personal protective equipment (PPE), and all required course materials are included.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to produce welds that meet structural integrity and soundness requirements. Welds will be inspected by a certified welding professional, and successful participants will have the opportunity to qualify for the AWS FCAW 1G certification.
In addition to technical training, students will gain an understanding of career opportunities in the welding industry, employer expectations, and workplace requirements. The development of essential employability and workplace skills will help prepare students for long-term career success.
